Porcelain Veneers in Langley

If your teeth are not in the best shape and you are unsure whether they can be fixed, there is no need to worry.

In many cases, any problems can be quickly and effectively fixed with porcelain veneers in Surrey or Langley. Veneers are thin strips of porcelain that are seamlessly adhered to the surface of your teeth to modify their shape and give them an aesthetic, white color.

About Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are expertly crafted off-site at a dental laboratory on the orders of your dentist. The lab technicians carefully construct them to match a mould of your teeth. After the veneers are customized to fit your teeth, they are slipped on and permanently affixed. Some of the corrections that can be made with veneers include the following:

  • Severe stains and discolouration
  • Unsightly fillings
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Chipped or worn teeth
  • Crooked teeth
  • Pitted or oddly shaped teeth

Porcelain Veneer Procedures

Having your dentist correct your teeth with porcelain veneers usually requires three visits. The first visit is simply a checkup and diagnosis. If problems or anomalies are found with your teeth, your dentist may suggest porcelain veneers and go over the treatment with you. If you agree, an appointment will be made to prepare your teeth.

The preparation visit may last between 45min – 1 hour. During this time, your teeth will be buffed down so that the veneers do not unnecessarily enlarge their overall size. This process requires local anesthetic, and afterward, a mold of your teeth will be cast and sent to the dental lab.

Your third visit will also take from 20- 30 min. During this visit, the dentist will bond the veneers to your teeth. First, however, the veneers will be slipped over your teeth to ensure they fit and have the correct colour. The colour can be adjusted at this time if it does not match the rest of your teeth. Once the adjustments are made, the veneers are placed with a formulated cement that bonds the veneers to your teeth with the aid of a laser or UV light.

After the veneers have been bonded, you are given two weeks for your teeth to adjust to them before going in for a follow-up visit.
